I Got A New Job — And I’m Ready To Start Writing Again!
Moving to a new city with a whole lot to learn, write, and share.
It’s been over a month since my last Medium post, and even before then I’ve been sporadic in my content for awhile. That’s because I’ve been working full time while also studying for tech interviews — Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu was my only real stress relief from it all. I’m happy to say that I’ve finally accepted my dream job. I’ll be moving to Redmond, Washington (just outside Seattle) to work at Microsoft on their quantum computing team! I posted a brief summary of my path leading to this opportunity on my LinkedIn profile, and was utterly humbled by the amount of support that took place.
It was an extremely long and winding path to this point, the interview process for tech is just bonkers. One startup I applied to wanted me to build a form of Slack from the ground up including the frontend, backend, communication protocol, everything. Oh, and they wanted it deployed too. And don’t even get me started on why one of my interviewers thought that coding an algorithm to solve sudoku boards would somehow test my ability as an engineer.
